The Liver Meeting (TLM) serves as the premier educational opportunity in the specialty of hepatology, and as such includes programming that covers the breadth of the specialty. The meeting’s goal is to support the hepatology community in its efforts to improve care for patients with liver disease by highlighting the latest discoveries in basic, translational, and clinical science. This outcome is achieved through a combination of didactic podium presentations, interactive learning experiences, and poster and abstract presentations. Invited programs are developed by AASLD members, including the leaders in the many sub-specialty topics within hepatology, to cover late-breaking discoveries published in AASLD journals and guidelines; these sessions are designed to help attendees stay up to date on current best practices. Abstracts are submitted by researchers from around the world to present new scientific discoveries that will advance the field. Most attendees at The Liver Meeting 2024 reported that they would implement changes in their practices based on the lessons they learned at TLM, reinforcing the success of this programming process and its ability to generate education that addresses attendees’ learning needs.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

- Discuss the latest basic, translational, and clinical research in hepatology with researchers and their peers
- Apply current guidelines and research to their practices, whether clinical care, education, or teaching
- Engage in peer to peer learning to reinforce lessons learned from meeting faculty
