The webinar will provide a “nuts and bolts” approach to implementing telehepatology practices in the community. The speakers will discuss telehepatology models for the management of viral hepatitis, metabolic liver disease, liver cirrhosis and end-stage liver disease. The speakers will also discuss telementoring opportunities in various settings. The webinar is ideal for healthcare administrators, policymakers, payors, residents/fellows, gastroenterologists, hepatologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, transplant surgeons/coordinators, and patient advocates.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
• Recognize telementoring through VA Health Care and Project ECHO
• Describe the telehepatology model for remote cirrhosis management
• Demonstrate the telehepatology model for HCV management in the community
• Define the telehepatology model for MASLD management in a multidisciplinary clinic
This online educational activity has been planned in accordance with the AASLD Financial Disclosure Policy and ACCME Standards for the Integrity and Independence for Accredited Continuing Education by members of the AASLD Transplant Hepatology Board Review Course faculty, the AASLD Maintenance of Certification Committee and the AASLD Governing Board. As an accredited provider, AASLD must collect information from all planners, faculty and others in the planning and control of continuing medical education (CME) activities to disclose all of their financial relationships with ineligible companies within the prior 24 months. Ineligible companies are those whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients. Individuals must disclose financial relationships with ineligible companies regardless of their view of the relevance of the relationship to the education.
The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) has implemented a system to resolve conflicts of interest for each CME activity to help ensure content is objective, fair balanced, independent, and free of commercial bias. Conflicts, if any, are resolved through one or more processes. All relevant conflicts pertaining to this activity have been mitigated.
