Spanish: Es médico cirujano con especialidad en gastroenterología y alta especialidad en hepatología clínica y trasplante hepático. Además, es maestra y doctora en ciencias médicas, con su examen de grado aprobado con mención honorífica, todos estos estudios cursados y avalados por la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Desde diciembre de 2015, es la Jefa del Servicio de Gastroenterología y Hepatología en el Hospital General de México “Dr. Eduardo Liceaga” en la Ciudad de México, donde además se desempeña como profesora titular del curso de especialidad en gastroenterología y como profesora adjunta del curso de alta especialidad en hepatología clínica y trasplante hepático, con aval de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Además, ha fungido como profesora adjunta de la cátedra de pregrado “Introducción a la Clínica” en la Escuela Superior de Medicina del Instituto Politécnico Nacional, y como profesora titular de la cátedra de pregrado “Gastroenterología” para la licenciatura en medicina en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México y para Saint Luke Escuela de Medicina, Alliant University. Es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores del Consejo Nacional de Humanidades, Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT), donde actualmente cuenta con nombramiento como Investigadora Nacional Nivel 2.

English: Fatima Higuera de la Tijera is a medical doctor with a specialty in gastroenterology and a subspecialty in clinical hepatology and liver transplantation. She is also a master's and doctoral graduate in medical sciences, with her thesis approved with honors. All of her studies were completed and accredited by the Faculty of Medicine, National Autonomous University of Mexico. Since December 2015, she has been the Head of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Service at the General Hospital of Mexico “Dr. Eduardo Liceaga” in Mexico City, where she also serves as a tenured professor in the gastroenterology specialty course and as an adjunct professor in the clinical hepatology and liver transplantation subspecialty course, both accredited by the Faculty of Medicine, National Autonomous University of Mexico. Additionally, she has been an adjunct professor for the undergraduate course “Introduction to Clinical Medicine” at the Higher School of Medicine of the National Polytechnic Institute and a tenured professor for the undergraduate course “Gastroenterology” in the medical degree program at the Faculty of Medicine, National Autonomous University of Mexico, and at Saint Luke School of Medicine, Alliant University. She is a member of the National System of Researchers of the National Council for the Humanities, Science, and Technology (CONACYT), where she currently holds the position of National Researcher Level 2.

Spanish: El Dr. Ridruejo se desempeña actualmente como jefe de la Sección Hepatología del Departamento de Medicina en el Centro de Educación Médica e Investigaciones Clínicas Norberto Quirno “CEMIC” de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. Se recibió de médico en la Universidad del Salvador y completó su residencia de Medicina Interna en la misma Institución y obtuvo el título en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA). Posteriormente realizó su entrenamiento en Hepatología en el Baylor College of Medicine y en el Eugene B. Casey Hepatitis and AIDS Diagnostic Laboratory, Houston, Texas bajo de la dirección del Dr. H. Blaine Hollinger.

English: Dr. Ridruejo currently works as the Head of the Hepatology Section from the Department of Medicine at Center for Medical Education and Clinical Research, Norberto Quirno CEMIC in Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. He received his medical degree from Salvador University and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Center for Medical Education and Clinical Research, Norberto Quirno CEMIC and in University of Buenos Aires (UBA). He subsequently completed his training in Hepatology Baylor College of Medicine and in the Eugene B. Casey Hepatitis and AIDS Diagnostic Laboratory in Houston, Texas under the direction of H. Blaine Hollinger.

Spanish: Mário Guimarães Pessoa es professor de la División de Gastroenterología y Hepatología de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de São Paulo, Brasil. Centró su investigación en las hepatitis virales, en el pre y postrasplante hepático, la predicción de factores que contribuyen al desarrollo de CHC y, más recientemente, en la enfermedad hepática esteatósica asociada al metabolismo. El Prof. Pessoa es actualmente vicepresidente de la Asociación Latinoamericana para el Estudio de las Enfermedades Hepáticas (ALEH) y también forma parte del comité de la coalición "Hígados Sanos, Vidas Sanas", formada por la AASLD, la ALEH, la APASL y la EASL.

English: Mário Guimarães Pessoa is a Professor at Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at University of São Paulo School of Medicine, Brazil. He focused his research in viral hepatitis, pre- and post-liver transplantation, predicting factors on HCC development and most recently on metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease. Prof. Pessoa is currently the Vice-President of the Latin American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases - ALEH and is also on the committee of the Healthy Livers, Healthy Lives coalition, formed by AASLD, ALEH, APASL and EASL.
