On January 1, 2021, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will be implementing significant changes to the outpatient evaluation and management (E/M) codes (CPT® codes 99202-99215) for new and established patients. The agency revised both the documentation requirements and values. Practices, physicians, and staff must understand these modifications to ensure a successful transition in 2021.
